Mars and Venus exalt in the enemies house ? Mars is a warrior , the best place for warrior to attain glory is battlefield . When surrounded by enemies , mars gives its best shot and comes out full potential , thus mars is exalted in capricorn in the house of Saturn.

Venus exalts in jupiterian house of pisces. Venus is the planet of pleasures .Pleasures when persued mindlessly ,leads to destruction .Only when pleasures are savoured through knowledge and caution ,then they lead to higher realms . also happiness derived is maximum in such cases .

But knowledge [especially spiritual knowledge ]is seen as enemy towards sense pleasures as it speaks of control of mind and restriction of unabashed persuit of pleasure.

Everyone has five senses , they interact with nature to give pleasure to the human body ,but yet all the people do not enjoy in the same manner , Some have better enjoyments than others .what differentiates their pleasure is not just abundance of pleasure items but the knowledge of its use and art of deriving maximum pleasure. This comes only by the Jupiter’s grace.
Thus venus exalts in a pisces the ultimate sign of wisdom.

Vasudhaji had asked about fourth house jupiter with ketu!

guru in 4th house makes one endowed with happiness [sukhi]; one’s house will always be adorned with vehicles at the doorsteps . Mostly bramhins always keep giving aashirwaad to these people [ it will be a routine in their life] .Even one’s enemy will be serving them at one point. Allthough all these shubh results occur , he/she will be at unrest in the inner mind . Weel placed jupiter will give state honours and monetary benefits .

with ketu his birth will be in a temple town.

10th house or ninth house represents the father?
Ninth house represents fathers longevity ,health and happiness, most of the time people take forward the legacy of the father . Such people benefit from the postion of father . So 10th house represents father’s position , status and riches , also 10th is seventh to 4th [mother] ,it also denotes karma to be done towards the pitru and many a kings inherit kingdom from their father and thus 10th will denot pitrarjit dhan sampatti and Rajya.

Sun debilitates in Venus : Sun is the King , a king should have his senses under control to rule justly , when King becomes a slave of pleasures he loses his authority .Thus sun in venus loses its authority . Sun is also soul , soul loses its meaning of life in Libra.

Ms Rita ’s question , chandra mangal yoga in aridra nakshatra,
Chandra mangala yoga gives gains by taking risks ,gambling and and keeping thing on tenterhook, its placement in th sign of Ardra will be more accentuated as the star of rahu. this brings in the tendency more decietfully and compulsively.

There is no sanyasa yoga , your seventh lord is with two benefics , thus you will definitely have a marraige . you will have a girl from a highly respected family as wife.

Guruji in my younger sisters horoscope; in janam kundli 7th loard kuja is in 11th house. and lagna lord venus in 9th Bhagyesh with sun in Makar rashi. Bhagyesh saturn is debilitated in Aries in 12 bhava. In her navamsha, 7th lord is saturn (maker rashi) and placed in 12th bhava. and 9th loard Jupiter is placed in 7th bhava with Moon in makar rashi. Jupeter is debilitated in seventh bhava. bhagyesh is debilited in both janama kundli and navamsha.
An astrologer said there is very strong dosha in navemsha for her merital as well as professional life. She needs sani vishesa pooja and thailabhiekham puja. At this point they are happily merried and living in Holland. Do you think dosa is so strong? My sister was asking there is any remedy which will be easily in her reach, like chanting mantra or some donation. What is thailabhiekham Puja .
    Her DOB : 20 January 1970 in Ranchi @ 14:00 (2PM)

    respected sir

Can we judge Moksha through astrology.through which planets and houses we can know that?
Is there a way to tell from the horoscope if this is the natives “last birth” or if the native will be liberated after this birth?

Yes moksha can be judged through horoscope , ketu is moksha karaka , ad twelfth lord also indicates moksha .jupiter in karkamsa in pisces will bestow moksha .

sir is there any another sukh which is comparable to mokhsa
[ even if temporary] for a human being…. in living state

asking this because mokhsa is ruled out , for me

but do we people choose the path to attain mokhsa[i think complete knowledge of god may not be possible] or god selects us and grant mokhsa irrespective of all requirements astrologically and knowledgebly.

    Pranam
One must always ask for gnyana bhakti vairagya , with it one can accomplish all the sukh in this life and other life. Its Lord Hanuman chooses and sets his eyes on a soul to take forward in sadhana , then he relentlessly works on him to attain all the requisiste qualifications for MOksha and then presents the case of the soul in front of Sri MAHALAKSHMI , [ this is the philosophical description of why hanumanji is shown sitting position with folded palms before seeta ] Sri MAhalakshmi then in ekanta [ during their intimate moments] puts the words of Mukhyaprana [hanuman] into the ears of MAhavishnu , who then decides to give MOksha to the soul.
Role of selfless hardwork on our behalf for our betterment by Hanuman is something we are all and should be indebted to .
what are the sukh the human can have in this earth is the question asked by LAksmi devi to Varaha swamy in Varaha Purana , and Lord enumerates different types of happiness the man can enjoy on earth , I shall write a sepearate post on that.
Your question was very beautiful !!!!

In Hindu astrology on the other hand, their spring equinox was fixed
to the stars about 17 centuries ago, and has been drifting away from
the seasons since then, now amounting to 22 days. (This was the Big
    Mistake!)

    Wikipedia

I’m no astrologer nor astronomer, but this requires some common sense
    only, not scholarship.

Its a simple matter really. There is nothing to dispute! We celebrate
Pongal on the winter equinox (uttarayana – meaning when the sun starts
its journey northwards). If anyone is not sure when is the winter
equinox just call your local meteorological station. Simple!

Now if Pongal is properly adjusted and celebrated on the correct day,
all other festivals have to naturally be adjusted too following the
    seasons, lunar months and nakshatras.

There are no makara rasi, or any rasis, no astrology, no fatalism, no determinism, no numerology, no palmistry in the vedas!

What we do have is solar and lunar months, nakshatras and tithis – all for
calculating times – our Hindu clock and dating system. But needless to say even

The author himself claims he is no scholar , then his vies need not be taken seriously ,

but his view that there are no names mentioned about rashis and planets in vedas is faulty, navagraha sukta and nakshatresti mantra is testimony to it , though it was a long discussion between all amateur people with limited knowledge ,it was eminent that there supporting pramanas were also poor in presentation ,
Although the argument about makar sankranti is actually peratining to nirayana and saya paddhati ,
it is well know we believe in fix zodiac and westerners believe in the zodiac that is as seen in the skies.
it has to be adjusted if not the actaul sankrantis actually change , for example all english astrological columns claim , librans as those born in october but if you see astrological charts , for those born before october 17 sun will still be in virgo . so what is sun sign here , sun’s sankraman in tula is actually on oct17 , similarly for makar sankraman as well .
to comment what is popularly celebrated in INDIA as illogical and against Scientific thinking , then I must these very people will be found in the hotels and restaurants and pubs to celebrate NEW YEAR on JAN 1st , one must ask what is the basis for this celebration what accounts for gregarions and julians and cesarians to declare this as first day of the year and under what logic these so called neo astrologers party on that day .

i shall give those sukta from vedas as well

    Om Namo Narayana,

    Dear Learned Jyothish Guru,

Please accept My greetings and salutations.

I have a query regarding my daughter who was born on 23 Feb 2001 at Hyderabad AP India at 7.55 PM. As per Lahiri Ayanamsa she has started her Jupiter Dasa on 25th April 2009. She has Kanya Lagna with it’s lord Mercury (AK) retro in capricorn, Mars in 3rd house, Sun and Moon in 6th house (Satabhisha nakshatra for moon), Venus(AmK) in 7th exalted, Jupiter and Saturn in 9th, Rahu in 10th and Ketu in 4th.

Jupiter is considered evil for Kanya Lagna and has exchanged signs with benefic Venus. Additionally Jupiter is with 5th &6th lord Saturn aspected by malefic Mars from swastahana (scorpio). In navamsa Jup is strong in Pisces but with Rahu and in D-24 it is debilitated but gets cancellation due to dispositor Saturn being in 7th house from it.

Preliminary glance shows multiple yogas like 4th and 5th lord association in 9th (Rajyoga), exchange of 7th and 9th lord (again Rajyoga), Gajakesari (Ju in kendra from moon) etc.

How do all the above factors sum up for her education prospects? what line of study would be favorable? Ju being in 9th does it affect father’s fortune also?

Kindly explain if the Ju dasa will be benefic or will it give malefic results based on it’s kendradhipati dosha.

    Look forward to your guidance.

    Thanking in advance.

    Sincerely,

    Rajeshwari M.

My wife was born in Gulbarga on 9th May 1971 (narsimha Chaturdashi) at 6.45 PM. She has Tula lagna with 3 exalted planets (Venus, Mars and Sun) and Mercury as vargottam. However except studies in which she did well (has Msc. Tech) she has remained under acheiver. She has excellent memory and very good intution about people but practically she has led a very routine life both before and after marraige. My attempts at making her see the positives of her talents are met with stiff resistance stemming out of her fearful attitude (surprising considering both Mars and sun are exalted). Could you please suggest some slokas or mantras which would make her a positive person and help her realize how blessed she is and be more positive in life? I have advised her to read Vishnu Sahasranam and Aditya Hrudayam which she has been reading for past one year upon advice by a Jyotishi.

    Best regards

Every lagna is divided into tatvas and by knowing the time of tatava rising male or female can be known
brothers and sisters can be known through yogas if present or through number of navammsas occupied by lord of third
no ayanamsa is correct , 360 days savan have to be taken for dashas .
mandi and gulika are eighth part of the day and rasi rising at the time contains gulika , it is saturns son , indicates type of death .
fourth lord in navamsa indicates the spouse and her profession
Parashar has mentioned rahu and ketu in hora shastra all through . he has even given rulership to ketu and rahu .
marriage event is timed by kalchakra dasha . navamsa dasha
try to find the the day which is having same moon rashi as in dwadashamsa chart of the new born child and seven -ten months before , that is conception chart .
lagnamsa is navamsa lagna , karakamsa is navamsha rasi of atmakaraka
when somebody takes part in a race certain people come third fourth and some take pride in participation alone , these are the results of 1/4 etc , when we say we almost got it but lost in the nth moment , then this also due to other aspects . futile attempts arise out of such aspects . they do not make much consequence hence not counted , however , two planets benefic in trikona makes for a full aspect benefic and can change results , hence two benefics in a kona is taken into consideration . two malefics in chaturasra can also be dangerous for the same reason
body part is found out by drekkana chart .
it was a good informative questions for the benefit of all .

      |People make huge hue and cry on kendradhipatya dosha , his dosha is operative for those who r on the wrong side of the dharma , Like jupiter is always a benefic , but when owning kendras , he will give some unhappiness like , he may give a very pious wife to a ultra yup guy . The guy will never be happy with this woman , the woman in concern is akin to jupiter giving unhappiness to mercurian yuppy . His sadness is because of the wrong andrather pervert idea of life partner ,w ho would urge her to party with him and yet the shy girl would rescend him , he is not at all attracted to her ,and is unhappy in ,marriage . this is kendradipathya

1.can you explain about creation according to the puranas

Story of Arunachala talks of war between Vishnu and Brahma and Shiva intervening and transforming into shivling which is now considered to be Arunachala .Is this the correct story of creation.?

2.Are upanishads reliable on all matters?
For example Garbha Upanishad says human heart weignt 6 palas and tongue weighs 12 palas. But we now know human heart weighs around 4 palas only.

3.Is ravana samhita and Bhrigu Samhita the same? Was Ravana a great Astrologer?

4.In Gitoupadesham Lord krishna says i am Garuda among birds. When Krishna is the rider of Garuda why should he say that he is Garuda himself?

THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST QUESTION ASKED ON THIS FORUM .I must commed you for asking these qusestions ,

Creation has been given in the lessons in astroogy , and some more information is on the my bramha jignyasa site http://chiraan.blogspot.com
Story of Arunachal is from shaiva puranas , as explained earlier , Shaiva purana are tamas puranas and all the facts given their are not authentic ,
If Shivalinga appeared , one must ask question , whether this shivalinga was there before creation of the universe , or it was created after the universe was created , As shivalinga appeared after Vishnu and others have manifested , and space was also created thus Shivalinga is after math incident , making it one compose of primordial components ie sat raj tam , it becomes prakrut and hence subservient to prakriti [Laxmi] and also the laxmipati [ Narayan] .
And if it is denied that Shival ljnga came into existence after the Universe ,Then one must prove that it existed before the creation as well , there is no vedic verse or pramana[ proof] that can vouch that shivaling existed before the creation of Universe. This proves the fact that this story is mohakara . and not correct .
Upanishads are reliable only along with the accomapanying bramhanas and supportive literature , thats why one must rely on bhashya and tikas of upanishads to get clearer meaning .
Human heart weighing 6 palas , palas is relative term , equating to weight of grains in question at those particular times ,
palas of yestertear cannot be same as palas of today , so difference is natural.

Ravan samhit is different from Bhrigu samhita , Ravan was a great astrologer and very learned Bramhin with animadi siddhis .

In Geeta Lord says he is Garuda among the birds , rose among the flowers , Arjuna among the pandavas , ………etc these are vibhuti rupas .

      the meaning is thus :

      Lord Krishna is paramatma .
rest all creatures are jeevatma .[soul]
There is distinct difference between jeeva and Paramatma .
Jeeva is totally under control of Paramatma .
Paramatma controls jeeva by being in it . ie Paramatma resides in the ATMA as bimba and jeeva[Atma] is pratibimba .
Atma is controlled by Paramatma , it cannot do anything against the wishes of PAramatma independently .
Thus when something extraordinary or best occurs in one particulat body it is due to the Bimba and not due to the pratibimba alone .
Thus the best among birds is Garuda because as garuda’s bimba , lord exhibits best qualities of the bird ,
as a flower rose is the best because bimba in the rose is exhbiting the best qualities , bimba is also their in other birds , it is also parmatma [ not different from Krishna ] but yet bimba in other birds chooses to exhibit less qualities making it lesser flower or lesser bird .

so wherever there is best , paramatma resides in his full glory in that .

In your post you divides planets and rashis as shiva phalit and vishnu phalit according to some unconcluded research.

5.But when i go to navagraha temples In south India all temples worship the shiva god as the graha there.

All form of Navagrahas are manifestations of shivas?

    • Posted by chiraan on 11/05/2009 at 02:00

shiva is certainly a greater diety than navagrahas , Thus exclusively a navagraha temple is not there but manifested with Shiva temple . While Praying Shiva can also bring about relief from navagraha doshas , so such a practise is found in South India ., But Shiva himself is not graha .
Navagrahas are controlled by Shiva As well .

    Dear Sir

In reference to vasudha question i have a doubt

Say a cancer lagna native, where 7th lord is Sani (also the 8th lord) is vakri in 4th in Libra. What effects will it give-7th lord in 4th or 8th lord in 4th,what is the result for this placement.

Shani is the only planet which can be 6th and 7th lord or 7th and 8th lord and is peculiar as 6th house and 8th house are not considered good houses. So i have this doubt in this mind

thanks for having an excellent forum for astro discussion

      Dear shastriji ,
For cancer lagna ,saturn is neutral planet because , as seventh lord he is benefic but as eighth lord he is neutral and since he is natural malefic , eighth assumes maleficence ,so overall he is neutral . But as seventh lord in 4th he gives a chaste wife , and also wife not under control [ wife may act independently and detrimental to prospects] . This being vakri will be a repeated feature of the horoscope . Repeatedly wife comes into trouble owing to independent decision making or adamantly getting her decisions imposed .
Since it is exalted wife may come from improved background and also bring lots of landed property with her along.
In vasudha’s case , it is in shatru kshetra and a benefic , a benefic with kendradhipatya , becomes stale in giving results , like when you have a very good elder in your house but if your actions are not approved by them , thier blessings may not be with you but beinga benefic , they will not harm you either , any punishment meted out will be witha aim of getting you better . However ourself being averse to the idea of being regulated may not like him and even hate him[the elder] for his reprimand , these results normally come from kendradhipatya and not as thought that it will harm the prospects .

    Respected Vemanashastri,

In fact rashi is karka and lagna is mithuna. So the lord of 7th is guru ie in 4th house kanya.Planetary position viz mithuna lagna, chandra in 2nd ie house ie karka, guru and ketu are in 4th house ie kanya, mangal in 6th house ie vrischik, ravi budha rahu are in 10 th house ie meena and shani shukra are in 11th house ie mesha.

    Now u can clearify

    Hi chiraanji

thanks for your answers. They are excellent and will help me go a long way in the study of astrology.

I was reading through some books by B.V. Raman and came across something which baffled me

the author talked about bHAVA CHART AND RASHI CHART.

Is there any difference between both?Because in the software i have(jagannath hora)both the charts are the same.

Can you please explain the difference between bhava chart and rashi chart if any difference exists?

Dr B.V. Raman , with all due respect to late great astrologer , displays heavy bent of scientific analysis aka clinical research , even in the field of Astrology . However sages have made it clear that astrology is not a experimental science or neither the results given in the astrological granthas , a result of statistical observations. But as the days in which Dr Raman was growing it was the only way he could popularise the study and He made his best efforts and succeeded , such a feat is really commendable .
But when it comes to astological study his findings do create a confusion .
Many a astrologers from time to time feel that Rashi chakra ie containing aries …..pisces is different from the 360deg Bhava chakra consisting of 12 bhavas 30deg eacg from the starting point 1 . start of the lagna 2. Bhava madhya ie from 15deg before actual begining of lagna . [ bhava is vyapta 15deg either side of lagna ] 3. 30deg from the start of lagna to the next rashi and its madhya is also sometimes taken to be bhava madhya .
In the later discussion , even if your 3rd bhava is gemini , it may still have cusp in cancer .
Thus a planet in the cancer in early deg can still be counted as being in 3rd house rather than being in cancer in rashi chart .

Except for one shloka parashar where in considering ashtakvarga , two rashis are considered and averaged to get ashtakvarga for that bhava . this gives clue to bhava in two rashis .
But nowhere in predictive astrology bhava is considered to be other than rasi .

    Hi sir

    Astrology is based on Panchangam
But the modern day astrologers never gave any importance to panchangam and therefore students like me belonging to the present generation know nothing about panchangam

Please describe about the 5 angas-yoga,tithi,karana,weekday,karana

Please describe about how to calculate Dagdha Rashis(burnt ) for each horoscope?

you mentioned that the sex of the native is determined using the tatwa in which lagna rises?can you elaborate more on this and show with an example chart how this is used practically since i feel it will be useful in Birth time rectification.

    Thanks

    Dear guruji,
I am very much interested in astrology and I am trying to gain some knowledge by referring some books and through your website… I have few queries…I kindly request you to go through them and guide me with your valuable suggestions.

For all the queries below “LAGNA IS KUMBHA”

    1. lagna lord Saturn {retrogate} is placed in tula rasi along with moon and kethu……rahu placed in third is seeing Saturn with his seventh aspect.Retrogate Saturn is placed in the constellation of Jupiter{retrogate} which is placed in twelth house which is its neecha rasi. So how will be Saturn maha dasa for the native….as lagna lord dasa it should be good, but it is also twelth lord dasa and it is with sixth lord moon and moreover it is in rahu-ketu axis , it is retrogate placed in constellation of another retrogate planet which is in neecha rasi

2.Moon is placed in tula rasi {9th house} along with ketu and Saturn{retrogate}…it is even afflicted by rahu which is placed in third house,so here we can find that moon is heavily afflicted…..jupiter {retrogate} is placed in twelth house which is its neecha rasi.So is “gajakesari yogam” formed in this case

3.mercury planet of fifth and eighth house is placed in seventh house……as fifth lord its placement in seventh is good, but as eighth lord its placement in seventh will be bad…so how the native{male} married life will be…..seventh lord sun is placed in sixth house along with mars….seventh lord is aspected by Jupiter{retrogate} from twelth house and Saturn{retrogate} from ninth house….venus lord of fourth and ninth house is placed in fourth house {its own house}….so what can we say about the native married life.
Saturn{retrogate} aspect on seventh lord sun is good or bad {because Saturn as lagna lord is good but as twelth lord it is bad}……

    Thanking you guruji in advance

            lagna lord mercury
moon is powerful than lagna hence nakshatra lord is saturn
navamsa lagna lord is again saturn
mercury saturn saturn – lords in rashi[dispositors] – jupiter mars mars
except mars all are weak .
hence this horoscope will be less fortunate as only one planet is powerful.
however due to extremely good yogas will reach high social status.
kumbhamsa also will trouble her in terms of luck.
two planets debilitated will give dependence on near and dears,
if you try sincerely this year will be best from companion point of view.

    Namaste Chiraan garu,
Recently I had a conversation with one my cousins about topics like keeping vrat, praying to a particular god etc. In her family everybody including parents, in laws, sisters etc keep vrat for minimum 2 days to maximum 4 days a week. But she and her husband do not. The way she supported her answer was also really good. She said we should not ask God for this or that, he has given us a lot already (taking birth as human and having good health is enuf proof of it). I just wanted to ask why do we keep vrat other than wishing for something? Also is it not right to ask for wellbeing of your near and dear ones?
Another question is about your faith. Some of our family members have turned to hare rama hare krishna or to similar organizations. They say Krishna bhagvan is the only one to whom you should pray, my cousin and I say that from childhood we believe all gods are one and we have a ishta devta whom we think about in times of sorrow and in times of happiness, another cousin says without all the photos of all gods in the puja room she feels something is missing (we do not argue with her, she grew up like that). But is believing that all gods are one wrong?
    Thank you!!

    “Namaste,
She said we should not ask God for this or that, he has given us a lot already (taking birth as human and having good health is enuf proof of it).

I just wanted to ask why do we keep vrat other than wishing for something? Also is it not right to ask for wellbeing of your near and dear ones?

Ans: All our actions are inspired by GOD .
All vrat and niyam pooja should be done primarily to Please HIM. But as No action goes waste ,every action [karma has a cause and effect ] will have results . Whether you wish for it or not. So praying God gives well being solace good fortune even without asking for it .
But then most of the people are born ignorant too . They suffer , when they suffer it is right to ask Why God ,I cannot have a solution . So Lord says there are remedies. One can perform them to relieve oneself from miseries.
So seeking relief from miseries is practical. Why is there anyone on the earth who might not have asked any favours from his Father or mother. [ we infact take it for granted that our demands should be met by our Father]
Similarly Lord is the father of all , there is nothing wrong in asking him. Saying I shall not ask anything is akin to EGO[false] that “I” [independently] shall bear whatever ‘HE’ gives . this is impossible.

So one’s endurance fails at some point when facing misery . Thus we must always pray for the solace of others and laso protection of self. However all this should be done to please GOD primarily and secondarily to get relief which is definite. God pleased in this manner shall give permanent releif from misery of birth and death.

Ans . Believing in dieties is not wrong , but believing all dieties are GOD is wrong.
Dieties devatas are different from God.
Krishna is the only GOD , rest are all just dieties. There is none equal or greater than Vishnu .
However As king ais respected , so also ministers and others surrounding him are also accorded some respect although lesser than King , so also other dieties should be prayed as Parivar[family of the GOD ] so parivar devatas , like Laxmi , Vayu , Shiva should be prayed as subservient to Krishna and elder to us.
We can have Ista devata , But this ishta devata should not be prayed as supreme lord.
We must always pray Krishna as present in our ishta devata ……..

    Poojya Guruji,

Can a non-brahmin like me recite Om nama shivaya/ Om namo bhagawathe vasudevaya/ Maha mrityunjaya mantra regularly? U mentioned in ur article abt Mantras that rules if not properly followed, Mantras can backfire & create problems. Are all the above mentioned mantras safe to be recited repeatedly day & night. I had a habit of repeatedly reciting all the above day/night irrespective of my bodily condition(in the middle of the night/ even before i have bathed) Is it proper? Can u kindly guide on the safe Mantras which common( uninitiated/ non-brahmins) like us can recite & chant? what is the best way for Moksha for a non-brahmin? How does Bhagawan grant Moksha to non-hindus( which can be predicted looking at their 12th house frm karakamsha) A muslim who is basically anti-Vishnu/ anti-krishna also has 12th Ketu in Karakamsha. what does this mean? I am confused, please guide this ignorant soul with the radiance of spiritual knowledge.

Not only non bramhins but uninitiated bramhins and woman in general should not practise mantras.
      sri venkateshaya namaha
      Hari narayana
      achyutanandgovinadaya namaha
these can be chanted without bath , regularly in all situations by all.

All non hindus subsequently are born as hindus in next births , non bramhins in some births in future get bramhin births.
Only after attaining bramhin births and then continuing sadhana , after taking birth as bramhin sanyasi one gets moksha.

it is wrong to assume all non hindus are anti vishnu or anti Krishna , there are many temples constructed by Non hindus after lord has instructed them in dremas to do so.
One must not insult anyone on the basis of birth or conclude that so and so is anti . One takes birth in non hindus as per poorva janma karma.

Those who do not marry their daughters according to her wishes and happiness are born as non hindus.

Those who repeatedy sin in their minds [mental sins] they are born as mletchhas . Those who swindle temple money are born as yavans.
those who desire to eat without rituals take birtgh as kirat.
etc etc. when these track back their roots , they have ketu in 12.

one must not feel extreme garva on account of birth because , one who is Bramhin today was shudra and mletchha in previous births , one who is vaishya today or even an animal would certainly achieve Bramhins ‘birth in due course of time.
As for lord one who is engaged in swadharma completely surrendering to God is most dear.every catse has a dharma associated with it , if it is doene as worship to lord , then he will surely attaiin Moksha .

These are the words of Bhagavadgeeta, one must never seek the dharma of others even if it is easy to perform , one must never abandon one’s dharma even if it gives death .
    pardharmo bhayavaha.

    Poojya Guruji,

U had advised me to pray to a stree devata & my kuladevata as a remedy in free consultation. Now as u said mantras in general shud not b chanted by women, can i chant ‘Om Gaurishankarabhyam namaha’ bcz my kuladevta is Ardhanareeshwara & Annapoorneshweri devi. Is it not allowed to even chant Mahamritunjaya mantra for women? How shud a woman pray to Bhagwan? Shud we just pray in such a manner like’ hey bhagwan, protect me & my family frm so n so problems/ shud it b like reciting a safe mantra like ‘ Sri Venketeshaya Namaha? Can a woman pray to lord hanuman/ lord Subrahmanya? How can a woman pray/ what can she do to attain a better birth next time(if not Moksha) I am asking all this bcz i have an intense desire that my soul merges with bhagwan, which is what moksha is. But as u said its not possible unless we are reborn as brahmins & do sadhana in next births. But there must surely be some way to be reborn as a brahmin/ at least be reborn in a spritually better grade than the present birth. A brahmin is one who knows Brahman, is the realisation that is enuf / is the sadhana that is necessary? Pls answer all my queries as u have always patiently done before too. I am grateful to find an elevated soul like u to direct my spiritual queries.

anything starting with om is prohibited ,
one can chant stotras as in bhagavat and other ouranas, there are kavach which are more powerful then mantras, parayana is best method for gaining better birth .

merging with Bhagavan is not moksha ,
my blogspot blog is currently giving vaikuntha varnana , this will tell what is moksha.

woman married have to pray god as present in their husbands. No one except hanuman is aloowed to pray god directly .
All must pray god as present in guru . for woman only husband is guru . they should pray lord in husband,. we pray lord as present in Madhvacharya.

unmarried woman prays lord as present in gaurishankar.
doing vrat like tritiya gauri vrat is best for attaining better births.

Serving [with dana , bhojana building temples ] will give bramhin birth .
one becomes bramhin when all he gets urge to control senses.

sadhana is knowing more about God without any doubt . but ignorance leads to have doubt on him and hence a little hate , this will lead to unhappiness.
even greats also faultered in understanding Krishna ,
Like Vidura who never did any sin also faultered in advising Krishna not to go to court of Duryodhana‘ because Duryodhan may imprison HIM’ , such a thinki9ng that God may be imprisoned was what the sin Vidura committed. So he had to again take birth to complete further sadhana .

What is the practical meaning of a Dharma-karmadhipati yoga, esply if for Dhanu lagna, it is Yuti of Sun in Leo 19′ 11″ 18 & Mercury in Leo 21′ 35″ 04? Will the combustion of Mercury spoil the result? In Navamsha, Mercury is in Libra & Sun, Venus & Asc in Virgo.

What is the significance of Moon as Atmakaraka+NeechaVargottama? And as u mentioned in one of ur articles, will Moon in Neecha Vargottama in Scorpio with 22nd drekkana in sarpa drekkana giv trouble frm snakes? My chart has all the indications as i have dhanu lagna 19′12″44,but i have Jupiter with my Moon in Navamsha. If answer is still yes, what is the remedy?

Killing or insulting or hitting bramhin is what leads to Vramha hatya dosha . All the sins are pardoned by Lord but bramha hatya .stree hatya , bhrun hatya , go hatya suvarna steya[ stealing gols] surapaan are not pardoned by Lord . So one definitely is pumished for this , punishment is 4 lakh years of pishacha janma . and untold miseries in the subsequent janmas as bramha rakshas for many yugas. when one repeats this sin , he is sent to andha tamas . the hell from where there is no return .

Krishnacharya has written a beautiful do’s and dont’s in kaliyuga compiling all the granths in ‘Smrutimuktavali’ Infact rules are stricter in kaliyuga then in previous yugas , There is no varnashrama dharma , hence one must do complete justice to one’s dharma in his own house , half of it can be practised when in others house , and while traveling all can behave as shudras.

2.Saptarishis Nadi took in to account lagna and moon for predictions. Are the seven sages who wrote saptarishis nadi lived earlier to Parashara ?

3.In Brihat jataka we can find combinations where a person can live for 2000,3000 years and all.Is it humanely possible.Do Those planetary configurations occur still in the world ?

As we study astrology , we start with mugging results of planets in diffrent bhavas etc , but we seldom find those results happening and as such learn that we have to modify results according to the aspects and associatioins . similarly we get results for few combinations as well. Some rishis have written the results for entire combination of seven planets , nine palnets and entire horoscope. these discussion among students of astrology in gurukul has been recorded as nadi.
Nadi is advanced astrological tool and not life history of person.
like certain birth in certain lagna degrees give rise to a set pattern of life , but that gets modified with other factors for each and every individual born in that degree.
      the pattern described is nadi.
let me give example , we see a movie , the story is usually same , a hero , aheroin ,villain , two side kicks , and asupporting actors.
Hero gains heroin and villain obstructs and gets bashed. Though all movies has this same theme yet each is unique in its presentation and details.
Nadi is theme and astrologer has to give details .

      Saptarishi were earlier to parashar.
In dwapar yuga people lived for 1000 years it was norma l span , kali 120years 5 days is normal span,
but yogis live abnormal span of life . these yogas indicate those. Himalayas are full of such people and many have met them.
      yes.

both your questions cannot be answered on the forum ,as they are highly guarded secrets. one has to undergo some saustereties to learn them. there is also some restrictions associated with deleneating those vidya. jaimini has written 10 adhyayas. these were never published.

I am really glad to know that there are 10 adhyayas of Jaimini. Yet, it was written by Somanatha Mishra that Jaimini wrote 8 adhyayas, 4 each on mathematical and predictive part.

It was mentioned by Krishna Mishra and Raghava Bhatta about the worship of different sect of Hinduism. I think the other religions may be understood from these combinations.

Coming to Caste system, I learnt Parivritti Trya Drekkana hold the clue.

            Namaste Sri Chiraan,

I don’t know much about the secret Sampradaya of Jaimini. Yet, I do admit this Jaimini System has been secret for centuries and the venerable commentator Somanatha Mishra of Kalpalatha fame write the same. He always asserts that Jaimini is a secret Sampradaya. You wrote there are 10 chapters in Jaimini which is an astronomical figure for me. If there were 10 chapters, then we would be fortunate that somebody preserving them for future generations. I admit that it is quite possible.

Let me tell you an instance I came across. As we all know there are only 8 sutras in the available Jaimini sutras regarding the worship starting from Ravi Ketubhyaam Sive Bhakti to Ketuna Ganesha SkandhaH. Yet, Krishna Mishra in his Phalaratnamala wrote combinations for different Upasana of Hindu Deities. I thought this might be the research and extension of the principles by Krishna Mishra. To my surprise, Raghava Bhatta, the author of Jataka Sara Sangraha wrote the same combinations in the Upasana Yoga Prakarana. Not only that, he has given the exact sutras for those combinations which we never find in the available 4 chapters of Jaimini Sutras. So, it is very much possible that these combinations might be from the 3rd and 4th chapters of Jaimini. As you may know, the available 3rd and 4th chapters in print are not clear and some scholars like Iranganti Rangacharya asserts them to be interpolated.

I am giving the following combination for Vaishnava Sampradaya as given by Krishna Mishra in 6th chapter of Phalaratnamala.

            The person belongs to

            1. Devotion towards Vishnu when Saturn placed in Mercury houses. This is clear from Jaimini Sutra.
            2. Devotion towards Madhva matha Sampradaya when Saturn placed in own house.
            3. Devotion towards Ramanuja Sampradaya when above combination either aspected or conjunct by Jupiter.
            4. Devotion towards Sri Venkatesha when above combination either aspected or conjunct by Venus.
I have tested these combinations from 12th house from Karakamsa in Yatiraja Sri Ramanuja, and other ISKON Vaishnava Saints. I request you to test these principles in some of the Madhva Acharya charts. Yet, it must be noted that Krishna Mishra wants us to reckon 5th house from Yogada for devotion.

From Internet I found the DOB of Madhvacharya was borb on Viajaya dasami day of Vilambi afternoon at near Udupi. This gives the DOB as 27-09-1238 at tentatively at 13:20 Hrs.

This gives Sag lagna with Jup and Moon in 2nd. It was specifically told by Somanatha that if a debilitated planet conjuncts with its exaltation lord, Neechabhanga occurs. Jup with waxing Moon in 5th from Yogada (Sun aspects both Asc in D-1 and Asc in Parivritti Drekkana) confirms his devotion towards Vishnu.

Even if we take Cap as Asc, Saturn as lord of Moon sign aspecting Lagna and Moon becomes Kevala Yogada, and 5th from him is Mercury indicating again Vishnu Bhakti.

From Karakmsa Jup is Ak placed in Gemini in Jaimini Navamsa chart. 2nd from KL is Saturn, shows the person very famous for his work. AK being placed in Mercury sign indicates his excellent intellectual capabilities. Venus, Sun and Saturn in 2nd and Moon in 4th indicate his excellence in Vedanta (Sun), Scriptures(Jup) and prilific writing (Venus, Moon).

Coming to his Upasana, though no planet occupy 12th from KL, but Venus with Saturn (Lord of Moon sign in D-1) and Mercury(placed in Saturn sign) aspecting the 12th indicate his Vishnu Bhakti. Look at the more Argala to Mercury than to Ven,Sat,Sun combination clearly showing the Vishnu Bhakti. What happens to the aspect of Sun on 12th from KL?

I am writing this spontaneously. he combinations listed here are mostly from Krishna Mishra text.

I want to add the following.

Sun being Yogada shows the person is adept in Vedanta.

Jupiter with Moon in 5th from Yogada indicate the person being Bramha Jnani.

I have some doubts on neecha bhanga raja yoja….please clarify them

1.For kumbha lagna ascedent jupiter{retrogate} is neecha in makara rasi, and mars is in cancer {in its neecha raasi} along with sun…..
2.exalted saturn {retrogate} and moon are in libra sign….
3.Here two neecha planets are mutually aspecting each other..so does neecha bhanga rajayoga occurs for jupiter and mars occurs in this case…..what are the positive and negative effects of this planetary position, since exalted saturn is retrogate what are its effects in saturn mahadasa

    eagerly waiting for your reply..

    Author of Prasna Marga states

“Without a thorough study of the Dasadhyayi, it would be difficult to make
correct predictions. So say the learned. One, who attempts to predict without studying the Dasadhyayi, would be like a man trying to cross an ocean without a boat.”

1.I would like to know whether the commentaries of BPHS by Dasadhyayi are available in the market?and details about where it can be purchased?

2.can u please rank the prashna classics according to the order of importance and richess of content.?

dashadhyayai is commentary on briaht jatak and not BPHS. Prashnam that is reliable and easy to understand is Badrayan prashna . and then Hora shambhu prakash. Prithuyasha

For astrological treatise , garud purana astrology is very useful and easy to learn. Kashyap hora and agastya jyotish are very useful in making predictions accurately . Bhrigu samhita is excellent.

    Dear Guruji

I am extremely sorry for calling Dasadhyayi as commentary of BPHS instead of Brihat Jataka?I would like to know from where it can be purchased as it looks to be a very interesting commentary than the rest

Of all that u mentioned i have only heard about Horashambu prakash and Brigu samhita.very sad that i didnt know others

Is there a seperate chapter in garud purana for astrology or it is a seperate astrological treatise?

I googled and found kashyap hora written by R.G.Rao.Is that what you mentioned?

what is agastya Jyotish.form of nadi jyotish? It would be helpful if u can tell us the exact name of the book so that we can purchase them.

    Thanks

The Man in the mirror who could not change his ways – Michael Jackson

      – When second lord is in own house /mooltrikona in gopuramsa man becomes extremely famous. – When any planet is in yaksha amsa one becomes a fine performer and singer – Influence of venus on fourth house gives one excellent singing talents . – a benefic in 10th will give amala yoga ,fame lasting even after death.

All these yogas can be found in the horoscope of Michael jackson.

The second lord mars in seventh in own house along with mercury in eleventh with sun in own house made him famous.

Incidentally mercury is exalted in shodashammsa as tenth lord.venus is in fourth house in shashtiamsha in own house indicating excellent singing abilities ,mars is exalted in shashtiamsha .

mars with four exaltation in shadvarga has made him immensely popular although same mars in debilitation in shodashamsa gave him troubled life and being with rahu and aspected by Jupiter made him have two marriages . without aspect of jupiter mariage would not have been possible . Yet debilitation in D16 gave him troubled marraige. mars with ketu in seventh gives scandals.

Jackson’s horoscope is testimony that excellent shodashamsa and shashtiamsa chart overrides rashi chart in giving excell results.

mars in payodhi amsa and lagna in amritamsa shows he was definitely a good man who was misunderstood .

saturn the weakest planet in the horoscope in second house faded his rein and deformed his face. mercury retrograde with sun gives skin diseases.

exalted moon in shodashamsa gave 10th house gave unrivalled career. Jupiter in lagna made him a undisputed King.Ninth lord in eleventh with eleventh lord gives extreme gains which was evident with his Thriller sell out album smashing all records.

Saturn in second left him a pile of debts. Karkamsa in libra makes him a artist , mercury and ketu in seventh from karkamsa made him gay. venus in fifth from karklamsa gave him poetic skills , he composed good lyrics and music. Jupiter in second from karkamsa ensured his vegetarian diet .

12th lord mercury acquired maraka abilities , it is evident in his death marked by mercury dasa jupiter antardas mercury pratyantar rahu sookshma saturn prana dasha .All the planets on fateful day were marakas.

Saturn in second finally had the say in his death which with gulika and mandi in twelfth indicates death by poisoning.

Amala Yoga of venus in tenth will give him everlasting fame .

He has said many times that he will not, when asked but then will maintain a cordial relationship after a lul period which may last weeks. On a regular basis we communicate mostly over the phone, but there too it is my initiative and I am the one who always calls him. This is just to give you an idea. I have known him since childhood. He is in IT profession, extremely proficient in music, plays any musical instrument given to him, but piano the best. He is with Virgo lagna and Gemini rashi. I am with Gemini rashi too. He has mercury and venus in 1st house, sun and mars in libra, Jupiter and Saturn in fifth, ketu in sixth and rahu in 12th and moon in 8th in gemini. He is going through Ketu-rahu dasha. I am going through Mercury mahadasha, ketu antardasha. He is also a family relative.

1.What is the meaning of “twiceborn” given in puranas and upanishads? ‘Twice born’ ‘dwij’ is for all those who have sanskara done for them at appropriate time . All are born as shudras by birth but its the sanskara that makes them eligible for study and gain of qualities .This is marked by upanayana sanskara and thus one is known to be born again after this sanskara to be known as what he is! Thus he is twice born [once from mother's womb and then by the upadesha of guru] *

** 2.The allotment of years for dashas of various planets are different from parashara in Garud Purana.Pls clarify regarding which is correct.

*it is just another method of dasha . like number of years differ in ashtotthari*

3.There are more than 20 major avatars of vishnu according to Garud purana but we use only 10 in our references. Why? This* is excellent question , actually answer is given in bhagavata purana .* *There are not 20 but [ 1 ,3 ,4 ,5, 10 ,24 ,12, 51 ,100,1000 and infinite ] avataras of Lord vishnu but 10 are known as dahsavataras . Even Vedvyasa was present during Krishna avatar and yet it is not among dashavatar This because dashavatars repeat in every cycle of yugas and others dont’* *Like Vedavyasa in next Dwapar is not Lord Vishnu but Ashvaththama of today. Ashvaththam will divide vedas in next dwapara. But today Lord Vishnu himself ahas done this.* *But dahsavatara will repeat. *

** 4.Is female birth a cursed one.According to Purana and shastra ,birth of son is glorified and they term birth of female as a result of sin of previous birth.

*Only female souls take birth as females , males do not become female [ unless under curse] So there is nothing wrong about female birth .
      * *Nowhere in shastras female is not glorified , infact All shastras says female birth is better than male because it flourishes the dynasties of two families and whereas son glorifies only one dynasty. * *Daksha prajapati had 60 daughters was he a sinner.[given the fact that he was father in law of SHIVA]*

5.Why are the avatars of Ram and Krishna of Narayana given more importance than other avatars in Hindu shastra like nama of “Rama” and “krishna” when pronounced will wash away so many sins etc.IS that because they are the recent avatars? *Only agyanis differentiate between avatars of Lord , shastras prohibit such distinctions , what varaha can do so also RAM , they are one and the same.* *But All the avataras except RAM and Krsihna have exhibited one of either Dushta shikshana or Shishta rakshana , But RAM and Krsihna are full scale avatara which ahve exhibited both Dushta shikshana and Shishta rakshana . * *Thus more prominent . In each Yuga the name of latest avatar becomes more potent in giving the results of the BHAVMOCHANA . So now Krishna Krsihna will give easy Moksha.* * *6.Why is Buddha,an incarnation of Mahavishnu looked down by others escpecially hindus except a group of people who now are called Buddhist? *Budhdha is not looked down upon . It is MOHA AVATAR , the preachings of Budhdha [ not Gautam Budhdha] were misunderstood by Shunyavadis to propagate Budhdhism . Budhdha avatar preached what is known as Prashnath Vidya and is practised by all Hindus . *

Three things important in a giving result is , bhava ,bhavadhipati and bhava karaka. bhava is the form of the result to be enjoyed , bhavadhipati describes the beings involved in the results bhava karaka shows the chief reasons and instrumental things giving results. Now if instrument and form becomes one and the same , then the variety of result is affected . because for something to achieve , instrument should be external to form if not then it give rise to absract results ,something related to inner feelings. and perhaps sometimes not manifested . so some authors feel this is not conducive . however for certain bhavas , karaka being in the bhava helps , like saturn in 8 , jupiter in second in own house .elsewhere it is not conducive .

similarly mars in 3rd venus in 7 mercury 6 sun in 1st sat 12 ,jup 2 , moon 4 are all not favoured.

i have a doubt abt finding the strength of the planet since various classics state diffferently.

Namaste Guruji,i Have a tricky doubt in evaluating the strength of Grahas .I am not sure whether the method followed by Jhoras are correct when they calculate shadbal as there is difference in opinion between classics

    BPHS

Strong in the east are Jupiter and Powerful
Surya and Mangal are so in the south
shani is the only graha that derives strength in the west
chandra and shukra are strong in the north

    Horasara and Saravali

Budh and Guru in 1st house,
Candr and Sukr in 4th house, Surya and Man?gal in 10th house
and Sani in 7th house enjoy Dig Bal, or directional strength.

Brihat Jataka vide translation by chidambaram aiyar 1905

Mercury and Jupiter are powerful when in east or Rising sign
Sun and Mars are powerful are when in south or 10th sign
sani is powerful in west or in 7th sign
Moon and venus are powerful when in North or 4th sign

According to some commentators,Mercury and Jupiter are powerful if placed in all signs denoting east such as Aries, leo, sagittarius . Sun and Mars in all signs denoting south,Saturn in all signs denoting west,Moon and venus in all signs denoting North.

What is the final answer for this difference in opinion among classics.?

Suppose if i am asked to find the strength of sun in scorpio for a aquarius
lagna native, what should be inferred among the below options?

1.Sun is strong because it is in 10th house
2.Sun is not strong because Scorpio is not a Southern sign

Many classics say conditions like ” when such and such a planet is powerful good results should be declared”.Hence the difficulty.

    thanks

    Respected Guruji

sorry for a flurry of questions posted recently .I have one more question regarding dasas

Is the dasha system we follow now is correct?can we believe the authencity of BPHS w.r.t dasha or Brihat jataka is to be believed?

The most common dasa system followed by astrologers in UDU dasha which also is described in BPHS.we cannot ignore the fact that there are certain paramparas which follow their own dasha like Kalachakra Dasha,Tara dasha only for preduction

Saravali talks in detail about moola Dasha but not any other dasha system

Parashara (BPHS)talks about calculation of many dashas in detail including vimshottari dasha.IT also talks about the mention of many other dashas like those which are mentioned in Jaimini system.Parashara talks in detail about Kalachakra dasha also. There is also a valid doubt that whether BPHS we have now is a corrupted version because we know it is a very ancient text and different versions have different chapters.we know BPHS belonged to a time before B.C.If that is the case, and if parashara or Maitreya(whovever wrote it) feels if Vimshottari dasa is the only dasha applicable in Kali yuga barring some special dashas in certain special conditions, what is the need for him to to describe about other dashas like KCD,chara dasa etc in detail when we are sure that the text BPHS is written somewhere in Kaliyuga and is meant for Kaliyuga people only.

So can dashas from BPHS text be taken as authentic one?

Varahamihira, one of the best astrologers in his famous work Brihat jataka in chapter 8 ,”ON planetary divisions and subdivisions of life known as dasas and antardasas” talks about determination of order of dashas in a different way according to the strength of sun, moon and lagna.

His son Prithyusas in Horasara also talks about the same dasha system as it is understood Horasara is similiar to commentary of Brihat Jataka.IN chapter 32 he has just mentioned a line that Udu dasa system is accepted by all.

Satavali a later text relatively talks about Moola dasa only in detail ignoring other dashas

Phaladeepika a later text of 13 th century talks about vimshottari dasha system.

If somebody among the three varahamihira,Mantreswara, kalyana varma can be argues to have accessed the original version of BPHS it is most probably the Varahamihira as he lived in the 5th century and he might have got the least interpolared version of BPHS for study, yet he doesnt give importance to Vimshottari dasha but talks about a complex dasha system calculated from lagna.sun and moon considering strength of each.

So Can we assume Brihat Jataka as the most authentic text?

If we are going to take Brihat jataka as the most authentic text, can we be blind to terms like drekkana, apoklima and other greek words?varahamihira talks about yavaneswara in many places, who is believed to be a mleccha or From foreign land(greeks).
The question arising now is whether greeks saw our planets as different incarnations of Vishnu neing Rama, parasurama …………..?Do greeks worship siva,Rama and Brahma>

Yavaneswara cannot be an indian rishis as evident from his sons work prithyusas where he refers many times in may places ,”so say the yavans” referring to a group of people and not a single person.

So if we are to accept Brihat Jataka which is much influenced by Yavans ,where is the divinity in Astrology we are talking about? Is not astrololgy directly taught by the god to the deserverd and came to us through parampara teachings of Rishis?

even if we are going to accept the theory of intermingling of cultures where a greek person could have learnt from our rishis in Gurukul inspite of him being a lower caste ,the texts which originated lin all regional languages later than 3rd century BC are influenced heavily by greek words like Drekkanas ,apoklimas etc

Even the Basic chapters of astrology in all texts after 5th century AD astrologywe have with us now is a corrupted version with greek influences

So where is the divinity in astrology?

can the present astrology be relied upon?

An interesting matter to consider is the prasna system of astrology which is prevalent in Kerala. It is found to be very accurate. The authorities who were famous in Prasna astrology had studied the famous Dasadhyayi commentary of Brihat JAtaka and Krishneeya as it was the custom in those periods.Dasadhyayi commentary is no longer available in print except in mansucript form(sanskrit) in some libraries in USA where it is readily available for learning

Is astrology any longer has the same divinity that was attached to it before?IS the vimshottari dasha system we follow is correct to predict all things connected with human life?

    thanks

    vishnu

Astrology is divine . There cannot be any compromise on its divine nature and teachings as vendanga .Jyotish is taught to the world in many paramparas . 1. Brahma , to rishis and maiitreya etc 2.Vayu to Devtas and so on 3.Surya to others . 4. Shukracharya to Maya 5. Maya to Sayana and others . This descendents of Maya have propaggated astrology in the otherside of the globe .One of the acharyas goes to Yavan desha and also marries the yavan girl and hence he is known as yavanacharya but basicallly he is a rishi .

Garga rishi was seduced by a yavan king’s daughter [ his son was KAllayavan who came to Krishna and muchukunda burnt him] This is recorded in Soma purana. So One is Bramha pravartak jyotisha surya pravartak . soma pravrtak soma pravartaan is for yavan desh [ the concepts are diffrent when applied to yavans]

Dasha , a human life is governed by any aspects , so all the dashas are applicable to a human . but since in kaliyuga , we have limited abilities , we cannot comprehend the subtelities of compound effects of all dahsas put together on a particular day.

hence man usually when he has good stint his mind is happy or otherwise , thus most events reflect happiness and unhappiness only then it can be easily traced by Vimshottari dasha.

But certain characters perform best even if their mental state is not perfect and gain laurels . .there is tremendous sucess but no mental savour . such cases vimshottari fails. vimshottari may show neech dasha and yet there will be international fame.

I have written detail posts on this topic in chara dahsa

Thanks for the clarification Guruji. PLease do answer rest of my questions also.

I assume the Garga you mentioned here is the garga who lived in Krishna dwapara yuga where Kesari consulted Garga to find out what could be done to solve the mental worries of KAmsa

I know that there are few disciples of Garga who lived at different age called as Garga 1 and Garga 2.

Sadly, i see Garga Hora being available in internet in printed form But nobody gives any importance to the matter contained in the text

IN Brihat Jataka i see various references where varahamihira does not accept Gargas view

as they are specific to yavans , it is not applicable to cultured. for example in a chart of a european or any other non asian , a jupiter in seventh house may not guarantee a healthy married life as desh kaal paristhithi in their lands is such where a little affliction can be safely declared as break. if you look at chieromancy too , a small island on a venus lines towards little finger is declared as break , whereas samudriki says it as loss of wealth . so such views are not acceptable as it is specific to region .

Thanks Guruji for explaining about desh kaal Paristhithi.I never knew this before and i am also surprised to know planets like Jupiter and others give different results in births at lat-long differrent from India owing to dofferences in customs.

I was very seriously thinking to learn Garga hora seriously, but now i have planned to give it light read only or only reference when required and so also yavana Jataka as it may be of less practical use.

Plz do write more on desh kaal paristhiti when you find time

    Eclipse questions
    respected Guruji

1.when total (sampurna)solar eclipse occurs should we not expect the sun, moon and ketu occupy the same longitude w.r.t minutes and seconds?

But the chart created for calcutta at 6.28 am on July 2009 where total solar eclipse is expected at that time gives a difference of longitude of 1 degree between each one of sun, moon and Ketu.sun is at 4 degrees, moon is at 5 degrees and ketu is at 6 degrees according to lahiri.

Can we not use solar eclipses and lunar eclipse to find out the correct ayanamsa?

2.why blade of grass is advised to be kept in homes?where should they actually be kept?

3.Why are we not advised to eat or drink sometime before and after eclipse and also for the same reason during the time of eclipse?

4.what are the precautions to be taken for pregnant women on eclipse days?

5.Does eclipse have an effect on marriages?is there a no.of days after and before eclipses when marriages should not take place?

would be very much nformative if you write a post covering the above questions and other important facts about total solar eclipse

    thanks

Eclipse are calculated by panchagakartas as per suryasidhdhanta drigganita . calculation in jyotisha softwares are different and hence diffrence crops up . we should not expect complete oevrlap of kalas wrt sun moon ketu .
eclipse is drigganita phenomenon and phalit jyotisha is obtained by applying yanamsa. so corollary cannot solve the problem.,

blade of grass [ kusha] is very powerful and ati pavitra . thus it is not subject to shuchi and ashuchi. What is shchi and ashchi ?
in plain terms it shows something acceptable and not acceptable. But human mind is very complex ,it needs phyclogical assurance towards cleanliness . tradition In Vedis culture gives such assurances . for ex when we go to Toilet and come out , one has to atleast wash ones hand ten times with mrittika[ soap] to be called as shuchi clean . [ this is shastra vachan] But parashar says this is indicative , one can feel clean only when the durgandha vanishes . But some cultures do not use water at all [ They have no sense of shuchi ashuchi ] we say .
But if you look at the adhyatmik view , shuchi ashuchi is not just removal of durgandha and feeling of well being .
one has feeling of unease due to unclean environment because fo prsence ashuchi daitya tattvas . When remedies [ like washing with water , achaman etc are applied ] are applied , such dautya tattvas un away and deva tatvas enter [ occupy ] thus we get feeling of well being . [ conversely Lord has given dictum irrespective of status and time , whoeve r performs certain kriya like washing achaman , these interchange of tatvas takes place ]
Suppose , deva tattva enters without any physical washing etc activity Man automatically feels fresh .
Kusha [ blade of grass ] initiates such an action ]; its samparka will give purity to one and all [ as Surya the main deva tatva in universe is under stress ] thus all the objects in the universe are under the sway of daitya [ Rahu] Kusha only enables sanctity.
It is parva kala , having something in stomach during this time would induce , urination etc which leads to diseases. sex reduces longevity and food gives rise to Kushtha.
keeping away from these will increase parva punya too.
all the ,materials in universe draw their potency through moon and Sun . when such rays are absent it is impotent.
sudden change of light may cause the foetus to develop deformation in limbs.
15 days before and after eclipse is not advisable for any shubha .

when there is affliction one must undertake remedies , keepng away from it will only bring more dangerous results , like marraige in deciet etc . perform remedies with faith and lead a happy life.

ketu is beneficial planet , in 11 th and pisces it very beneficial.

Mercury does not represent Vishnu , affliction to mercury can be removed by Praying Vishnu . Vishnu is the chief inspirator among all planets . thats why Purandar dasa says , “sakala graha bala neene ” strengths of planets are not propoertional to ther adhidevata and pratyaadhidevata.

that way if you say mercury is leess powerful than saturn , and sun is more powerful than venus , are kshatriys better than bramhins[ venus]] and vaishya[ merciury] less than others .etc the strengths are owing to planetary kingdom .

1.what is the difference between pralaya and mahapralaya
2.Last pralaya occured how many years ago?
3.Does pralaya occur at the end of each yuga like satya yuga, dwapara yuga.treta yuga etc or does it occur only at the end of the kalki yuga?

There are four types of pralaya . 1at the end of Manavantara 2. at the end of day of Bramha 3. at the end of 100 years of Bramha 4.Laya During moksha.

Manvantara ends after 71 1/4 mahayugas . 1 mahayuga means four yugas [ saty treta dwapara kali 4320000 human years ] such 71 1/4 mahayugas a severe pralaya comes which destroys only Bu buvar swarga loka. rest of the universe is intact .

after 1000 mahayugas , that is after 4320000000 years later Bramha ’s half day is over at this point entire lokas upto Maharloka [including] gets destroyed . so new creation begins every morning of Bramha . But this ceation is remanifestation of already srujya jeevas . this is dinkalpa srusthi .

after 360 days a year of Bramha such 100 years laters ie . 2 X 4320000000 X 360 X 100 years later pralaya takes place this destroys the entire universe except Vaikuntha everything else is destroyed , there is no manifestation of souls here only Narayana alone resides in the Pralaya water . after his nidra he bestows Moksha to the souls by taking them through a bath in Viraja this is Laya . After gving Moksha to desrving souls , he again Palyfully creates this universe by creaing a Lotus through his navel and Vayu[ Hanuman ] is born again as Bramha chaturmukha Bramha and universe begins again with new set of Souls.

in devi bhagavatam , it is said that devi or prakriti is the ultimate one who reigns at the end of maha pralaya. even brahma , vishnu and shiva has an end . that the three divine beings are also from prakriti. that what vishnu himself cannot do , devi does it like the killing of mahishasura demon.why this difference of opinion.

In shaiva puranas , shiva is also said to be supreme , in skanda purana kumar is said to be supreme , in ganptya agama , Ganapati is supreme , in saura puranas , Surya is supreme . but all these are smritis only they are not backed by shruti Vedas . thus smriti can be authentic only when it is backed by Vedas.

Smriti is also didvided as satvik rajas and tamas , tamas smritis are not acceptable , these are the words of Padma purana.

Pralaya does not occur after each yuga like Treta dwapar etc , As Mahabharata happened in Dwapara and we are tracking descendants even to Kaliyuga so there cannnot be a pralaya in between .

pralaya does not occur even after end kaliyuga also . as satya yuga comes back after kali .

      last pralaya was , {27 X 4320000 – [432000 - 5104] } years back .

On 8/8/09, Chiraan S wrote: > > There are four types of pralaya . 1at the end of Manavantara 2. at the end > of day of Bramha 3. at the end of 100 years of Bramha 4.Laya During moksha. > > > Manvantara ends after 71 1/4 mahayugas . 1 mahayuga means four yugas [ saty > treta dwapara kali 4320000 human years ] such 71 1/4 mahayugas a severe > pralaya comes which destroys only Bu buvar swarga loka. rest of the > universe is intact . > > after 1000 mahayugas , that is after 4320000000 years later Bramha ’s half > day is over at this point entire lokas upto Maharloka [including] gets > destroyed . so new creation begins every morning of Bramha . Essential doubts about Hinduism-

THanks for the reply GurujiEven i thought the same.If there was a pralaya we cud not have got the texts of Mahabharatha and Ramayana

Ramayana is dated to have happened in 5100 bc as Ram birth comes around 10th january 5114 BC

Krishna birth date is believed to be 19th jUly 3228 BC

Within 2000 years god has taken two births to destroy evils.

approx 5000 years ahve elapsed since Krishnas death,we dont have any major mahavishnu avatar.

I am not sure about the dating of Buddha u mentioned the other day(different from Gautama).Did he belong to Kaliyuga?if so the approximate dating?Suppose IF he is the very recent avatar why dont we have popular stories or texts about BUDDHAS life?

Looks like vedavayasa who wrote Mahabharata must have seen the events as it occured and framed Mahabharatha epic.SO parasara son of vedavyasa must have seen the events of mahabharatha.

        Discrepancy 1

Parashara muni must be the contemporary of Lord Krishna. It is believed in Dwapara Yuga as per references circulating in internet normal lifespan is 1000 years but Krishna,The supreme god lived only 125 years.I dont think Pandavas live more than 200 years.

Parasara in his BPHS chapter 1 states,”From Sürya the incarnation of Ram, from Candr that of Krishn, from Mangal that of Narasimh,
from Budh that of Buddha …etc. All other incarnations than these also are through the Grahas. The beings
with more Paramatmäìç are called divine beings”

So it is evident parasara muni considers Krishna as the paramatma and incarnation of chandra. He also mentions Budha as incarnation of Buddha. This implies BUddha incarnation has occured before parashara muni as he is aware of it.otherwise BPHS can not t be considered that sacred as it is believed to be written by parasara.EIther it is written by “some other Parasara” who lived later than mahabharatha times because mention of Krishna,Buddha(if he is a later avatar than krishna) is there.

          Discrepancy 2

          vedic concept of time

          SATYUG 4,32,000 YEARS X 4 = 17,28,000 YEARS
          TRETA 4,32,000 YEARS X 3 = 12,96,000 YEARS
          DWAPAR 4,32,000 YEARS X 2 = 8,64,000 YEARS
          KALIYUG 4,32,000 YEARS X 1 = 4,32,000 YEARS

But difference between rama and krishna birth date is just 2000 years. This raises doubt whether rama belonged to treta yuga and krishna belonged to dwapara yuga as dwapara yuga must run 8640000 years after ramas death and the current period year 2009 must be dwapara yuga (but krishna already died)and not Kaliyuga.

either basic vedic concept of time regarding yugas is questionable or dating of avatars claimed by scholars is wrong.

On what basis do we have to believe the version of rama 5100 Bc . there is no proof its just an assumption because some fool assumes that world could have started only 1000 years ago. Infact another version puts it at 2000 Bc after Krishna . the reason given is value sysytem and civilization is far more superior in Ramayana then Mahabharata [ as Mahabharta depicts fight for cattle , women , a nomadic civilization , Ramayana shows high vaues like respect for women , Kingly duties etc ] such silly reasoning which made my history textbook show Ram as after Krishna was vehemently opposed by me oin my school days , till my history teacher skipped the chapter . I skipped the question in EXams. In nutshell such claims have no relevance . As puranas are more authentic then idiotic modern historians . These historians rely on Archaelogical surveys and a century ago it was world began aroun 15000 years ago . then with a new fossil found in China somebody claims the fossil could have been of a man living around a million years ago. Now if another is found in antartica these date will be pushed still back . so our historians will time to time change their claims and readjust dates . we blind followers should treat our own history with suspicion owing to such foolish conclusions seems unrational.

rAMAYANA took place in Treata end and Mahabharta took place in DWAPARA END . Buddha avatara at the begining of Kali yuga. Since it is present in almost all puranas and other literauture from time immemorial it is acceptable.

We all know about Kalki avatar to be yet to take place about 426000 years later . So our knowledge about Kalki avatar does it prove that we are all born after Kalki avatar . or does it prove that our existence in kali 5109 years as false .

the analogy that you have given does apply in similar manner to Parashar also. Just as we know about Kalki beforehand , Parashar knew about Buddha . Parashar is only one and he continues to live evenn today since treata yuga. Vyasa avatar manifested in the beginning of Dwapar . He wrote mahabharta even before it took place . Puranas are alwasy present since begining of creation/ manvantara Dashavatara take place every Mahayuga cycle. so ll the avataras are known prior in the puranas.

        chiraan ji,

in devi bhagavatam , it is said that devi or prakriti is the ultimate one who reigns at the end of maha pralaya. even brahma , vishnu and shiva has an end . that the three divine beings are also from prakriti. that what vishnu himself cannot do , devi does it like the killing of mahishasura demon.why this difference of opinion.

    Discrepancy 3

From above discussions Parasara who authored BPHS seems to be different from Original parasara who lived during Mahabharatha.either BPHS is written by siishyas of parasara or an altogether diffrent parasara must have authored BPHS and the authenticity of BPHS is very much in doubt

    Discrepancy 4

    Srinivasa kalyanam from TTD website

“Sita informed Rama that the lady was Vedavati who endured Ravana’s torture for ten months in Lanka for her sake. Sita requested Rama to accept Vedavati also as his spouse. But Rama declined her request saying that he believed in having only one wife during his life time. However, He promised to wed her in her next birth as Padmavati, born as the daughter of Akasa Raja, when Rama himself would take the form of Srinivasa.

Yasoda brought up Sri Krishna, the son of Devaki, in his early years. However, Yasoda was not blessed to witness the marriage of Sri Krishna with Rukmini and she felt very sad. Sri Krishna promised to fulfil her desire in her next birth as Vakuladevi in his next avatara as Srinivasa. In Rukmini’s next birth as Vakuladevi, she was serving Lord Varahaswami when He sent her to serve Srinivasa”

From all this it is evident that Srinivasa avatar ,an mahaavatar of vishnu took place of rama and krishna and must be less than 5000 years old.THere is reference of chola king in the story,so the avatrar must be very recent.Yet we dont have much informance of the life history of srinivasa when compared to Rama and Krishna

We cannot deny the bhakti people have on Srinivasa of venkatadri hills showing this avatar is as much important as Rama and Krishna.

i guess we have the story of srinivasa, bhrigu kicking narayana all in puranas which were authored by parasara when he lived in dwapara yuga? But i believe the story was written in “Past tense” like having occured.

But we know very well that it has occured after Krishna avatar and has some connections with chola king in the story.

Chola kings have a lineage since treta yuga , just like SHudhodhna [ Gautam Budha] is the last king of Ikshvaku vamsha. Mahabharta also mentions Sahadeva as having won Chola king . Cholas also partcipated in Mahabharta war . Srinivas Kalyan has taken place in Kaliyuga before buddhaa avatar. There should not be any problem with accepting this . If problem is of Parashar writing these then as I said Parashar is still living . Like SHuka muni was there even in Kaliyuga propagating Bhagavat , so were pandava dynasty till 1000 years of Kali .during this period all the world was very pious the puranas were known to be flourishing . And puranas give account of all the avataras gone by and yet to come.

Thank you Guruji. Your reply makes perfect sense. But why do most astrologers give more weightage for analysing transits from the natal moon. Is this correct? Or should every bhava be given equal weightage. Will appreciate your reply. Thanks

Kindly make clear the second point. Shashtashtaka gets cancelled when lord are friends or enemies pl?. Books generally says when shashtastaka prevails and the lord are also enemies it has got two opposite effects and gets cancelled. The guides also says only 6th position from the bride is shashtashtaka and not the 8th position.

    Dear Sir,

I have a pdf file Mr.Kaul, which gives shastric examples to prove that our vedic calendar and our dates are all false and wrong.

The data has baffled me, and feel a urge that your kind soul should throw some light on the subject.

I have the full pdf and I can send it to you whenever you like. Following text is quoted from the same file.

    A.J

Precession and Solstices: We know that there are two more cardinal points in the
phenomenon of seasons. They are formed when the sun (the earth) during its sojourn
through the Ecliptic reaches a point which is at the maximum distance of north from the
Equator. The sun has the maximum declination of North (whereas the earth has the
maximum declination of South) then and it starts “coming down” and “turning” to south
(and the earth towards North). That is why it is known as Dakshinayana viz. Summer
Solstice when the day is the longest in northern hemisphere—around June 22 these
days. Similarly, when the sun reaches the point on the ecliptic which has the maximum
southern distance from the Equator (and the earth the maximum Northern Declination),
it comes as if to a “halt” momentarily and starts going to North (and the earth towards
South). it is known as Uttarayana — Winter Solstice, when the day is the shortest—
December 22 this year. When we say the Equinoxes are precessing, it is actually as if
the whole Equator is precessing and therefore, even the Winter and Summer Solstices
also are precessing. Our Vedic Rishis had made the month of Madhav start from Vernal
Equinox and the month of Tapah from the Winter Solstice and so on since they had
linked the months to seasons. We can thus say that the months Madhu, Madhava etc.
also are precessing since all of them are linked to the four cardinal points viz. the two
    equinoxes and solstices.
The rate of precession in 2000 BC was about 49”.31, in 1 AD it was about 49”.84
and presently it is about 50”.28 per year. Thus the point V1 will have precessed to V2
by about 50.28 seconds of arc between 2003 and 2004. As we can judge from the
diagram, when the sun (actually the earth) reaches V2, it will have to travel a distance
of about 50”.28 less than if the VE1 had remained “fixed”, like a “Fixed Star”. The sun
travels about one degree (3600 seconds of arc) in a day i.e. 24X60 = 1440 minutes. It
means the distance of the precession of 50.28 seconds of arc will be covered in a lesser
time of about (1440/3600)X50.28 = 20.11 minutes approximately than the “fixed”
equinox. That is why we say that the tropical year – distance covered by the sun/earth
from one Vernal Equinox to another Vernal Equinox – is shorter than the sidereal year –
distance covered by the sun from a Fixed Star to the same star again—by about 20
minutes. A simple mathematical calculation tells us that at the present rate of
precession, it will be about 71.6 years when one degree of precession will be the
difference whereas in 2000 BC it would have taken about 72.89 years for a degree of
precession. We can thus safely say that on an average, during the last few thousand
years, the Equinoxes and solstices etc. precessed at an average rate of about 1 degree
    every 72 years.
    Constellations vis-à-vis Precession:
The precession of equinoxes/solstices is always vis-à-vis the constellational belt,
i.e. against the background of a particular constellation at a particular point of time. For
example, when we want to find out the position of the Vernal Equinox or Winter Solstice
etc. say at the time of Shatapatha Brahmana, which was about 3000 BC, we cannot just
pin it against a void! We must have some “area”-–some canvas—where and against
which we can position/locate it! e.g., when we want to “find” Delhi, we have to say, “It
is in India, which is a part of Asia”! Similarly, to find the position of the Vernal Equinox
etc. astronomers have taken the background Constellations as the canvass. Thus when
Lokamanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak said in his “Orion” that in 3000 BC the Vernal Equinox
was in the Constellation of Krittikas, he was talking of those very Constellations.
    Constellations as per modern astronomy:
There are actually about 88 Constellations as per modern astronomy out of which
thirteen (fourteen including Ceti i.e. Cetus meaning a “Whale”) are the major ones of the 4
zodiac i.e. the constellational belt “hovering” around the ecliptic. These constellations
were given their names because of their resemblance to some particular figure e.g. when
Lokamanya Tilak referred to ORION as the “Hunter” it was only because it had
resembled that figure in the hoary past and does so even today to some extent.
Similarly, Aries resembled a ram; Taurus a bull and so on. Though these days most of
these “Bulls” and “Rams” have lost their resemblance with their original nomenclatures,
however, they are still known by those very names. And that is absurd, to say the least!
Out of the 13/14 prominent constellations, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo,
Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces are the twelve constellations
that comprised the zodiac initially as per the Chaldean, later Greek and still later
Western astrologers. They called them “signs”. Hindu astrologers know these very
“signs” by the names of twelve Rashis viz. Mesha, Vrishab, Mithun, Karkat, Simha,
Kanya, Tula, Vrischik, Dhanu, Makar, Kumbha and Mina respectively in that order. In
fact, “Hindu” names of Rashis are just the equivalents of their Chaldean/Greek names.
There is also a thirteenth constellation of the zodiac by the name of Ophiuchus and a
fourteenth by the name of Cetus, but these are neither recognized by Western nor by
    Eastern astrologers.
We must have some “coordinates” to measure the “distances” or “longitudes” of
these constellations as well. There are no starting or ending demarcation lines described
in the Vedas for these constellations. e.g. they do not tell us as to when “Apbharni” ends
and “Krittikas” start or vice-versa. However, International Astronomical Union has given
the boundaries of these constellations in Right Ascension and Declination etc. as per the
Vernal Equinox of 1930, which are naturally slightly different from the ones given earlier
as per 1875 equinox. These revised boundaries, when translated to the Vernal Equinox
of 2004 AD, lead to their longitudes as given in the last but one column of the below
    table.
Indian Institute of Astrophysics has this to say in its website about the IAU list of
constellations, “The definitive list of 88 constellations was established in 1930, under the
authority of the International Astronomical Union. Its rectilinear constellation boundaries
preserve the traditional arrangements of naked eye stars. The standard boundaries
define an unambiguous constellation for each star.
‘Nevertheless, it has to be admitted that the constellations that we have today,
are neither logical nor convenient. The largest constellation Hydra covers 1303 square
degrees of the sky; the smallest, Cruz, only 68 square degrees. Centaurus includes 49
stars above the fifth magnitude, while Mensa does not have even one. However, the
patterns are now well established that it is unlikely that they will be altered.”

    Sir,

In sloka’s phala shruthi, lot of things would be given.

If we read and do not get the intended phala, does that mean that we are short of bhakti, or efforts

What is the role of our horoscope, God and human efforts

Many time, we commit mistake repeatedly and after that mistake we go back to god and the cycle keep repeating. Since with our knowledge this thing happen, how far we are elgible to gain lord’s blessing. When we are about to commit mistake, it feels we are dragged and no control. Temperorary enjoyment will cause lots of misery.

    1. Jupiter in 10th house(gemini) under Virgo ascendant will it still be benifical despite its occupying the house opposite to own house.(lord 4&7th in 10th?) What will be the effects in terms of career – engineer/politics/law ?

    2. Mercury being Lagna & 10th lord in 8th so is it detrminet(mercury in aries) – any sexual problems ? Career in law & ownership of lands?
& is it harmful to the career since in 8th?

    3. 2nd & 9th lord Venus (exalted pisces) in 7th house along with Mars i.e. 3rd & 8th lord so what kind of combo is this for marriage/progeny/business/wealth? All about spouse could she be from another race/religion since venus is 9th lord?

    4. Saturn in 5th being 5th & 6th lord but it is Vakri(Retro) along with Rahu
so is this harmful to the progeny or an exalted venus could make up for that- career in sports?

    5. Sun + Moon(exalted) in 9th – Taurus being 12th & 11th lords respectivelty – former for foreign residence & latter for the income & desires-dhana/raja yoga ? will I settle abroad forever & achieve something(s)?

    Respected Guruji
In continuation of the questions on combustion, this is an additional query

4.How much importance is to be combustion?classics say a planet becomes kopi or akin to debilitated if combusted.can six fold strength of planets or avastha bala(3 or 5 scheme) override the bad effects combustion?

If 2 pr more planets giving rajayoga are cpmbusted by sun ,will they give raja yoga effects at all?

This simple doubt arises because, before the advent of computer software and software charts, common people use to draw charts of Rashi and navmasa with vimshottari balance alone on paper and go to astrologers. There will be no mention of longitudes of planets to determine combustion.Yet we have seen astrologers making excellent predictions in past even though they wete not aware of planets being in combustion or not.

kindly clarify all basic queries about combustions.

    Thanks

Combust palnets do not give results even if shadbala is complete . The planet is kopi because even when all the ingredients of all success is present one fails to achieve sucess , this results in frustration thus ‘kopi’ .

raj yoga misses by whisker .

sanyasa bhanga takes place if planet in pravrajya yoga is combust .

except mercury all the planets in combustion give bad results .

    Respected Chiraan ji,

I very well understand the volume of queries you will have to deal with everyday, I am an enthusiast of this vidya so wanted to know. Please answer me when you find some time.

    My question is,
Inorder to judge the strength of the Rajayogas, we have to look at amsa balas or Vaiseshikamsas. Can you please list the different amsa balsas (from highest to lowest). If possible, please let me know the percentage strength for each of those.

    Thanks

      Respected Sri,

To add to the old question,

      1. What if raja yoga causing planet is in infacy or dead? Will the Rajayoga cancels? And what graha in what state will give more results?

      Thanks

    Shri Chiraan,

    Namaskar,

My daughter born on 23 Feb’01 at Hyderabad AP at 17.55 hrs constantly suffers from cold and cough since we moved to Bangalore in 2002. Recently strong anti biotics caused lot of side effects including constipation and urine infection. I am worried about her health and would request your astrological/divine insight into her health prospects and whether we should plan to move out of Bangalore (very difficult though). The number I have after prayer to Shri Narayana is 108. Any other comments on her studies or her chart you deem necessary would be appreciated.

    Thanking you

    sincerely,

    Seven and Half saturn

Call it elanati shani , sade sati or any other name , the most feared term by believers of Astrology is shani gochara through 12 , 1 st and 2nd house from lagna and moon .
Why it is feared the most?
The most unknown unforeseen events are experienced in this period . The ric suddenly becomes poor , the king becomes ordinary ,royals lose royalty ,
Saturn is the great trouble maker in the life . why does saturn bring troubles ?

Earth is place where happiness and misery are present in equal measures . swarga gives only happiness and Narak gives only unhappiness .

all the events in the life of a person are governed by planets . the events of unhappiness are governed by saturn . Saturn is meant to give troubles . why seven and half .
saturn stays in one house fr 30 months . its effect is highest in 12 1st and 2nd house transit ,
12th indicates losses , 1st troubles to self , 2nd family and financial troubles.
it is these very troubles man feels devastated .
Alternatively in 12th saturn aspects 2nd , 9th and 6th , thus afflicting fortunes , increasing enemies and ruining finances .
in 1st it aspects 3rd ,10th , 7th , loss of work ,means of earning ,troubles to family and fears ,
    In 2nd it aspects 4th , 8th , 11th , it gives change of place , gains and restoration of health .

Even though saturn troubles in evey house , in 3rd 11th and 10 it is especially beneficial /

What is the purpose of this trouble , saturn induces value system , character building and vairagya . It increases faith in the Lord . saturn especially teaches dependency on the society , religion and Lord .

a egoistic person faces extreme egobashing incidents . A extremely independent man faces dependency of worst kind .A ruler udnergoes servitude . A giver has to beg that too from a beggar .

A luxurious faces simplicity etc . In one word Saturn is great leveller . all this only to make one understand only Lord is the one who gives and take away .

In good days people earn name fame and wealth . Almost all this achieved through certain exhibition of self worth , qualities and talent . 99.99 people take this success for granted and feel the talent qualities and self worth are self initiated and under their control forever . The increase of AHAMis os much that a succesful starts teasing the unsuccessful saying LOOK I AM SUCCESFUL BECAUSE I DO THIS AND I FOLLOW THIS REGIME I HAVE THIS HABBIT ALL BECAUSE OF MY STRUGGLE AND EFFORTS AND HARD WORK I HAVE ACHIEVED THIS , BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT LIKE ME YOU ARE UNSUCCESSFUL. HE LOOKS DOWN UPON OTHERS WHO BELIEVE IN FATE GOD AND OTHER SUCH THINGS . HE IS COMPLETELY CONFIDENT THAT IT WAS ONLY HIS SELF EFFORT THAT MADE HIM SUCCESSFUL . NO AMOUNT OF SERMON SEEMS TO GO INTO HIS HEAD AND HE CALLS ALL THOSE WHO GO TO THE TEMPLE AS WEAK MINDED PEOPLE .

SUDDENLY THINGS CHANGE AS SATURN ENTERS 12TH . HIS SAME APPROACH GIVES FAILURE , HE IS REPEATEDLY PUT INTO STRENUOUS SITUATION . THE FAT WHICH HE BELIEVES ARDENTLY SEEMS NOT TO BE WORKING . HIS BACKGROUND CHANGES , FRIENDS TURN ENEMY AND HIS FORMULA FOR SUCCESS BECOME OUTDATED , PEOPLE SAY HE HAS BECOME STALE , HE HAS TO REINVENT . BUT NOTHING WORKS .

this man then turns to soothsayers asking nothing is working for me . even if I put 100% I am not getting results , worst still I try to do one thing it turns out to be opposite . I try to do good , same people shun me and misunderstand me .

Take it for granted you are in seven and half saturn ,

    to be continued …………………..

      Chiraanji,

Many astrologers state that the effect of sade sati on a rashi is dependant on the ‘paya’ or base of saturn. Gold and iron paya is supposed to give a very difficult period whereas copper and silver are supposed to be beneficial. Please give your view on the above.

      Thanks

Thank you for your response. However I have observed that for some people their sade sati proves to give them tremendous gains in career, business, marriage, etc. Is this due to other yogas in their horoscope or due to the position of saturn and moon in their chart or some other reason?

              Acharya,

When I was going through a similar phase, an elderly relative told me this.

When we are born, God sends along two pots. One filled with all the good things about to happen to us and the other with all the bad things.

Few lives, due to their Prarabdha, consuming the entire contents of one pot continuosly (Good or Bad).Hence the their second half is vice versa of the first half of their life span.

For few lives, it is a dis proportionate mixture of the contents of the two pots.

      Respected Sir,

As per your post above sade sati occurs from moon and lagna both and not only from the moon as per conventional notion. Are these two different sade saati’s equally devastating ? I also infer from this that, Unless the moon is in the lagna itself, the person will sufer extremely long periods of misfortunes due to sade saati.. is this true sir ?

Since i have moon in 5th from lagna, i have had respite for only 2and a half years since 1991. Add to that, mahadasa of the maraka and combust jupiter from 1991 to 2007. Sade Sathi has some unique features .
It affects only that aspect of life to which the man is very much attached .
If a person is of the type ” I can bear anything , loss of money , position etc etc everything but i cannot bear anything happening to my daughter /son ”
The first thing that happens in sade sathi is difficulties to son /daughter .

    If a person feels only love is everything in this world and nothingelse matters , the first thing that is affected is Love ;

If a person feels only maoney is what matters then his finances are first to be affected.

If a person fears loss of honour and gives extreme importance to it then he faces danger of shame .

When someone is extremely egoistic , his ego is bashed to the maximum .
when someone feels he is highly educated he gets less marks .

When someone brags about success every now and then then first thing he gets is a failure in his life .

All these things happen when person carries forward into the life without being aware of the saturn moment and is less god fearing or atheist .
Such people invariably face the most impossible situations in the life till they realise they are dependent ,

Sade sathi invariably brings every sensible soul to its knees and drives him towards the temple and ask LORD Oh GOD ‘ whats going wrong with me . why me ? Why only me?

    Acharya,

My question is related to finding the MUHURTA.

    1. While selecting the MUHURTA for the GRUHAPRAVESH, should we select the MUHURTA based on the practical owner of the property OR should it based on the Father of the owner of the property, as he is the YAJAMANA of the KUTUMBA (In case Father is alive)?

    2. While selecting the MUHURTA for the UPANAYAN, why particular care is taken to see the GURUBALA between SON and FATHER?

Muhurta is selected on the basis of actual owner . guru bala is importance because upanayana is the sutra with which pitrus are also bound to the vatu .

Digbandhana during sandhyavandane is to save punya else rakshashas abduct the punya .

grahadigbandhana is to avoid the dushta shakti drishti on the vastu . it prevents pisachas to enter the vastu if they enter devatas leave , if devatas leave then happiness leaves .

deha is also a vastu and presnece of devatas is invited by nyasa and pisachas are driven away by digbandhana .

During the Gruhadigbandhana, few strands of thread are passed along the perimeter of the vastu by reciting mantra.

Q1: How long this is effective.
Q2: Should it be periodically redone. If so, what are the ways.

sadhe saati can be considered as a boxing ring with a heavy weight champion SATURN as your opponent . He invariably wins . BUt as you enter the ring [ You are a very confident man and you have all favorable surroundings and most conducive environment and lots of supporters ].
But as soon as you enter the ring the scene changes .

Your very strength becomes your weakness . The surroundings change swiftly , the environment becomes inimical , you look totally alien in your own arena . The supporters turn bitter critics . worst still most trusted lieutenants join enemy camp and saturn casts a sarcastic eye . He has already won the bout ,. what remains is white towel to be thrown in .
Yet if your ego has not burnt up , the bout gets miserable with every minute passing your weakness are exposed to the worst and slowly you doubt your own credentials , a stage occurs you seriously contemplate was this bout necessary .

As the time passes , your clothes are torn and you are completely bruised . you look here and there , people are enjoying the bash , your wellwishers have left . You ask your opponent I have already lost what else are you looking for in this bout . But this does not seem to bring the karuna ras in the opponent .

You think perhaps the clothes are still intact and hence this bout may continue ,
so you voluntarily hand overthe shirt . Thinking saturn will have some mercy . BUt the dear saturn gives a wierd look at the pants . you out of fear forego your reputation . BUt even the last bit is also snatched , you look for cover and swear never again I shall take panga with SATURN [ its a a promise ] , you run helter skelter to save your life ,as reputation has already gone , there is no respite you fall onto the feet of LORD SATURN, he gives you a consolation prize and well covered he sends you home a reformed and mellowed devotee .

Every person who has extreme confidence in his own efforts and does not believe in any external force guiding him and regulating the success and failure , meets with the same fate as described above .
So all those who enter the ring its better you forego for yourself the ego of giving a fight and starightaway coming onto innerwears make a sastang namaskar to the great SATURN and you are saved of reputation and as well as bashing , in return you get a gift of philosophical knowledge .

The bravery of entering the ring for a bout is conviction that selfefforts nly brings the success and it does not pay or ios uselelss to run after dieties in temple .

The clothes are the outer posture /pose that we carry or pretend for others . It is totally different from what we are . Many people who are not give to Yogic way of life attach extreme importance to their image among the pseudo atmosphere that they imagine around them in office ., among relatives friends . they struggle hard to maintain this image . Its this image that is disrobed blatantly during SADHESATHI . All the more with every layer of makeup wearing out [ image ] extreme unhappiness is faced by the person in the saturn ring .

Those who have already shunned this pseudo image or make up , they suffer the least and are still in equanimity during saturn ring .sadhe sathi

if women are not supposed to enchant mantras then what about Gargi?
Surath(non brahmin) was allowed for jap and tap. Was prahlad and Dhruv Brahmin? we all are santan of param brahma. Is there any restriction for calling our father and mother? if not, then why for god who is also our father+mother.

Prahlad is a bramhin , Dhruv is kshatriya , gargi is not a reference to a woman ,jap and tap can be done by anyone but not with mantras , there are other things to do jap and tap means to fast and starve , can anyone stop anyone from starving , no . BUT the fact is non bramhins cannot starve for the sake of GOD , they immediatelyb have problems like acidity , diseases which they cannot overcome and are forced to eat or take some thing light to eat in the name of fast , Muslims do fast eating twice a day , yet they feel they have done great fasting . so when you allow or if someone allows himself to do what he is not supposed to do as a result of inability , there will be aberrations .

Let us take the discussion on sade sati a little further . even the best suffer a hard blow .

Amitabh bachchan led a successful life at peak for 10 years , come sade sati , he suffered a life threatening blow and health deteriorated , so also his films declined , and mithun era started .
For many years Bachchan struggled , his political ambitions faced wash out his business venture failed throwing him into debt . his alliances [most trusted Gandhis ] distanced from him .
The effect was so high that Amitabh did not hesitate to say ” duing those suffereing years , if anyone asked him to clean floor for return of money and release of debt he would have agreed .

He also came to terms with reality of the world that Ther are “few raja and others are Runk and there cannot be any comparision ”
The most successful person [ sometimes success and Amitabh goes synonymous ]
suffered most intmidatin moments mellowing him to a humilty .

I happened to read about “Brahma dasa” past two days online. For me its very confusing.

Maheshwara’s (Planet residing rashi’s dasa)- determines the time of death or from that rashi’s trine rashi dasa s .
    1. how to determine the strongest of those? Is it based on shadbala or something else?
    2. what if that rashi dasa is already over

death is determined by the shoola dasa , rudra planet is strong among the 2nd and 8th lord . shoola dasa starts with 2nd or 8th house , so possibility of death comes in the rashi dasa where rudra is placed , in this method if the rasi of rudra is passed then its trine will have maraka effect .

Looks like Shoola dasa starts with the rashi where Rudra planet is placed and not with 2nd or 8th house. And when you say possibility of death occurs in the rashi dasa where rudra is placed then its the first rashi itself. Kindly enlighten if I have understood it incorrectly.

I have seen many horoscopes in my life where there were two or three exalted planets yet the owners were leading a normal life .
In one case where mars in capricorn ,jupiter in cancer and sun in aries , but this gentele man was no king or PM , he was ordinary manager in a nationalised bank.
another horoscope which has venus in own house , jupiter exaltation and mars in exaltation yet this owner of horoscope was successful accountant .
WHy did many planet in exaltation did not give political success .

Simply mere exaltation does not give power It is the strength of the planets and its good placement in dasavarga that gives raj yoga .
certain yogas raj yogas act only if the person is born in royal family rest all will be well honoured and will lead rich life .

If there are daridra yogas along with rajyogas , then also person will not ascend throne .,
Some rajyogas if they operate very late in the life , person keeps on asking have rajyoga but why am i not getting success .
Even Vaajpayee became Pm after 75 , for 75 years he might be wondering whether he will become PM . similarly goes the yoga for many who have made it late in life .
even if single planet is exalted a person of royal lineage becomes King during the dasa of the planet ,
There are certain yogas which give power irrespective of birth and background .

The rajyoga by the combination of atmakaraka and putrakaraka gives very powerful rajyoga.

      Respected Chiranji,

When we say strength in Dasavarga , What should be the min(%) of strength you consider to be the raja yogakaraka? ( Even if it is later in the life)
I just read some hypothesis in one of the blogs , even to consider the vargottamatva there is a calculation ( considering different varga charts) for it to give a real results is it so?

      Thanks

donating a copper idol of Sun six inches in hieght would be okay . gadantha will make one dependent on others always in that dasa

Sachin Tendulkar has two exalted and two debilitated planets and also sarpa dosha . So technically debilitated planet antardasha must have come and gone in his twenty years career , for other players they ge dropped even if inimical planet dasha runs , why even with two debiliatated palnets and rahu dasha on Sachin is ever successful ? Because the dispositor of debiliated planets are in 5th and 9th

Is it also because the vimshottari mahadashas of mercury and jupiter (both debilitated planets) have not happened in his life so far?

    LOVE Vs ARRANGED MARRIAGE

There is no yoga like love marraige in astrology . Marraige is a marraige . It is important to understand whether marraige is successful or not rather than love or arranged . but looking at the spate of queries in this regard this seems to be singlemost bother of the girls and boys equally .

let us analyse . what is it that the poeple call as LOVE marraige . knowing each other before marriage is it called LOVE . or commiting each other is Love , or accepting each others affection is love , or being passionate is love ? \
and absence of all the above seems like arranged .

So people want to fall in love and if they go on to marry it is love marraige .

Simple attraction towards each other cannot be termed as Love . as shastras keep saying jahi kamam
means control your passion . That includes looking at girls . but attraction cannot come without even looking once at a prospective love . But this is default of injunction .
secondly if senses are given free wheel then attraction can be abundant and at every step can all these be termed as love .

or is it convenience of proximity that destiny provides in bringing two people closer after failure to follow injunction .
For all purpose falling in love is failure of bramhcharya ashram [ this is too old fashioned man , i know but i cannot help writing it ]

if attractions are primary to Love then
    solar guys loves submission .
lunar guy loves the idea of romance
mars loves the thrill and excitement
mercury fall in love with anything funny and interesting
Jupiter falls in love with truth and goodness
venis falls in love with anything beautiful
saturn loves the sins of passion or seduction

So what is your Love ?
it changes with your type . But if you see except solar and jupiterian love no other love seems to guarantee love . as all are temporary ., so one can safely bet that his love life will be succesful only when his love fits into solar or jupiterian type .

overall 2/7 is failed statistics .

Then we may go on to ask what about Gandharva vivaha . the word vivaha itself gives the answer . In olden days once a strong attraction was noted despite heavy efforts to control senses . [ this is not failure of senses but an intution of desire ] immediately the two being involved express their inability to control senses [ AS Lord in GEETA says HE is the desire among the beings] the next step is not a passionate loss of senses but a commitment to this desire kindled by LORD which is solemnized by taking oath of commitment by the fire or atleast by the minds , it can also mean an exchange of ring or garland .or simple clasping of hand . ALL these acts signify commitment [ commitment till death] .And this is known as gandharva vivaha . which then quickly is followed by Prajapatya .

Such a commitment of expressing Love by the side of gas stove [ with burner on ] may not be found in todays world , but what is seen in the horoscope is affliction to venus , seventh house or presence of kamatur yoga which if found with good seventh house can be termed as adventurous marraige or else failure in Affair , but a clean venus or no kamatur yoga and good seventh in navamsha definitly gives
    arranged marraige .

What is seen in such cases is the zeal to be attracted or to know someone is interested is what sparks of adventures of Love , people keep trying rather satisfying their ego that they are being wanted or persued , if such a state is denied people feel themselves as unwanted and feel dejected . In an extasy compromise with lesser beings just for the heck of falling in love .
mOst beautiful people get complexed when they see no one running around them and rather a bubbly average type being pursued helter skelter , so the next thing is the any male who would be graced with destiny with proximity would be most probable victim of complexed attraction . Though this temporary as time withers realities of the economic world pop out and people face emotional breakdowns ,

While Love is same when before or after marraige every marraige is LOVE marraige some have extended sense of belonging till prajapatya some for few days . BUt essentially couples marrying are always in love , As love is the domain of Manmath . Manmath ways can be wrt excitement , passion or simple humour or submission or poetry or beauty yet it is the way of Manamath and not the LOVE as emotion .
